When Mary, John, Janet, Joey and I set up AM – from the ashes of the Central Office of Information – the world looked very different, and I don’t just mean the political landscape. We had a sense, and certainly a belief, that our services were needed out there – but we had no idea whether our plan for a crack team of top-notch proofreaders and copy-editors working together would work as a sustainable business.
Five years on, some of us have moved on to other things, and sadly we lost John to a heart attack early last year, which rocked us all. But AM is still here, still going, still growing – and I’m loving every minute of it. Well, perhaps not at 5.03pm on a Friday when a surprise job lands in my inbox without any warning, but almost every minute!
And we had the chance to get out and celebrate our five years in business with colleagues, clients and friends of the company at the House of St Barnabas a few weeks ago. (See below for some photographic evidence!)
Thanks to everyone who came to the party on a very cold and blustery evening – and thanks also to everyone who has supported us and been a part of the AM journey.
We can’t wait to see what the next five years have in store.
